Reports sadly confirm that former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland was found dead on Thursday (December 3). Details surrounding the 48-year-old rocker's sudden death still remain hazy.
The Velvet Revolver superstar was scheduled to perform a concert with his new band Weiland & The Wildabouts at the Medina Balroom in Bloomington, Minnesota. However, Weiland's lifeless body was discovered on his tour bus at around 9 p.m. that same evening.
An official Facebook statement reads:
Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected.

More information regarding Weiland's passing will be released later today (Friday, December 4). The Blaster singer did have a tragic history of drug use, especially with cocaine. He is survived by his third wife Jamie Wachtel and two teenaged children from a previous marriage.
