Louis C.K.'s Hilarious Teaser Trailer, Promo For HBO Special 'Oh My God': Comedian Taking Break From FX Series 'Louie' [VIDEO]

Comedian Louis C.K. has a new HBO special premiering Saturday April 13 at 10pm and he wants you to know about it. So of course he created a trailer for this event and HBO released it on their YouTube page. What occurs is a hilarious and original way to create a comedy promo as Louis mocks the typical comedy trailers that are produced for this kind of event. The HBO special is just another sign that the "Louie" star is one of the top comedians in the world right now.

Louis C.K. used to be more of a cult comedian, but since his FX series "Louie" has been airing to critical acclaim, Louis has been gaining some serious popularity. The stand-up comedian has since hosted "Saturday Night Live," released his fourth full length special "Live at the Beacon Theater," and in April is starring in his own HBO comedy special. Things are going pretty well for the stand-up comic.

Part of Louis' brilliance is portrayed in the promo for his HBO special where he mocks himself, while also making a clever observation about the ridiculousness of the business he works in.

Louis has been around writing and performing stand-up for quite some time, but it wasn't until his FX comedy series "Louie" that the comedian started to gain mainstream attention. Louis has since been nominated twice for a Prime time Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2011 and 2012.

Louis won Emmy's for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 2012 for "Louie" and also won and Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special for "Live at the Beacon Theater."

Louis announced last fall that he will be taking an extended hiatus from "Louie." The comedian writes, produces, stars in, and often edits "Louie."
