The ten million dollar London mansion of Simon Cowell was burglarized while the X-Factor judge and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric were asleep inside. The Guardian reports that the Metropolitan police responded to the Holland Park address at approximately 2:20 a.m. Friday morning.
The former American Idol icon and his family were not hurt during the break-in but the thieves made a clean getaway before cops arrived. Among the items taken were jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.
"Obviously Simon and Lauren are really badly shaken by this. It's a horrible violation of their privacy. But more than anything they are incredibly relieved no one was hurt," claimed a family friend before adding, "As upsetting as it is, Simon can cope with losing possessions, as long as his family is safe. That is his one and only concern."
The 56-year-old music producer was tight-lipped about the incident when he attended the X-Factor finale rehearsals that Friday afternoon. Ironically this isn't the first time his house has been a target for burglary. In 2012, Leanne Zaloumis, 29, was discovered holding a brick while hiding in Cowell's walk-in closet. According to his rep, "She had smashed her way in through the window and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing."
Hello. Thanks for all of the messages. Nobody got hurt. I don't think I have the best guard dogs in the World.

On a happier note, Cowell will be an upcoming judge for 11th season of America's Got Talent. In addition, he and former judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson will all be returning for the 15th and final season of American Idol in 2016. As Ryan Seacrest told E! News, "The plan is to have all of them back. They've all considered it and I think are enthusiastic about coming back and saluting the show."
