In a campaign against diversity based bullying, Britain's Prince William attended an anti-bullying workshop at Diana Award, a charity in which honors his late mother, Princess Diana.
With the Chief Executive of the London based organization and, Tessy Ojo the prince's assistance, children can "celebrate diversity, instead of being threatened by it." Recently, an "online survey found over half of young people reported negative terms used to describe their appearance including, ethnicity in terms of their skin color or physical facial features," People reported.
According to Today, a previous back-to-school campaign visit addressed issues like social media intimidation and gay and transgender bullying. Another important topic that the Duke of Cambridge focused on during the group exercises was the "high-five" system, which encourages students to "remember five people they can turn to for help and advice." The prince revealed his supporters which included wife Kate Middleton, brother Prince Harry and their father, Prince Charles.
Lately, the Duke and Duchess have been diligent in backing charities that are related to mental illness in young people. This past October, the second in line to the throne spoke at the 21st anniversary dinner of Charity Bereavement UK, a charity run by one of Princess Diana's closest friends, Julia Samuel, who is also the God-mother to Prince George. In 1994, the Princess of Wales helped launched Samuel's charity. The 33-year old heir says, "Fifteen years later, I was honored to be invited to become Patron of Child Bereavement UK to continue my mother's commitment to a charity which is very dear to me."
There is no doubt, that the heir to the throne has kept a busy schedule, lending support to the many charities and organizations that he represents. The office of the Royal Family has been posting updates and photos on Twitter so that fans and subjects can stay informed.
