Michael Cera, Sarah Silverman, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of "Tim and Eric, and experimental comedian/musician Reggie Watts have teamed up with YouTube (owned by Google) to put together a video website devoted to comedy called JASH. "Jash" is apparently a play on the term "to josh" as in "joshing around," meaning "joking around." You got it? Good, because this new video channel, announced at SXSW, is all about jokes and laughter and getting it all to fans of comedy.
While hanging out with the founders of JASH, Christina Chaey of Co.CREATE asked Silverman to describe JASH in a Vine video clip. Considering she only had six seconds for this Vine clip, Silverman tried to sum it all up in one short statement. She came up with: "I want you butt inside me. JASH dot com."
So take that however you would like, but it seems like JASH is simply a way to get more jokes out on the Internet. Even if they make very little or no sense. Below is the official announcement video that takes you through exactly what had to be done to make this new channel come together. There is a clear "Tim and Eric" feel to the video and it also gives us a taste of what is to come with JASH.com. Cera, Silverman, Watts, Wareheim and Heidecker will also be featured in "Fast Company" for their FASH venture.
Here are some Twitter reactions to the announcement of JASH:
