The latest trailer for potential sci-fi blockbuster "Star Trek Into Darkness" was released this past weekend. The sequel to J.J. Abrams 2009 "Star Trek" movie is sure to have fans anxiously awaiting the film's May 17 release date. Besides the expected high impact action, the stars are all present in the latest "Star Trek" film. Chris Pine is back as James T. Kirk and Zachary Quinto is playing Spock as they battle against Benedict Cumberbatch's character. The question is, does Cumberbatch play Khan or some other villain?

The new trailer includes all the usual hype expected for a blockbuster franchise film such as "Star Trek." There are stars, explosions, action, dramatic music, and a preview of the villain. You can check out the latest trailer making its rounds on YouTube below. Fans also get some shots of the S.S. Enterprise and action occurring in space. Also, James T. Kirk is shown getting reprimanded for venturing underwater and breaking Starfleet rules.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Cumberbatch and the villain he is portraying. There have been rumors he is playing Khan, who was the featured in 1982's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." Unfortunately for fans, director J.J. Abrams has kept silent on the topic, leaving the speculation to fuel the movie's promotion even further.

Other stars who are in the May 17 film are Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, and Karl Urban. It was reported recently that "Star Trek Into Darkness" will be released a week earlier in the UK. The film was originally supposed to be released May 17 in both the U.S. and the UK. Now Paramount Pictures is letting fans over in England see the film May 9.
