Former "American Idol" sweetheart Jessica Sanchez recently sat down with MTV to talk about the newest season of "AI" as well as the 17-year-old songstress' upcoming guest appearance on the hit Fox musical teen comedy/drama series, "Glee." According to Sanchez, the "AI" boys have been on too long of a winning streak - it's about time for one of the ladies to win the ultimate singing crown! And as for Sanchez's personal pick - she believes that all of the female contestants are fabulous, but she's really pulling for former contestant and vocal powerhouse, Candice Glover. But Sanchez hasn't had much time to sit around and watch the new Season 12 episodes of "AI" - she's currently busy preparing for her TV debut on "Glee!" The adorable California native doesn't know much about the role she's set to play, but she's definitely ready to live life to the fullest and meet the challenges of acting head-on!

According to MTV, when Sanchez isn't busy working on her music, she enjoys following the new season of "AI" with its fresh-faced contestants and judges. During a recent interview Sanchez said, "I've been watching 'Idol' as much as I can cause I've been busy trying to focus on the album. I've been really, really busy and I've been trying to keep up with the shows and the contestants and I'm very, very excited for them ... [I'm] so, very, very excited for the new season. The judges are amazing, love Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey and all them."
And Sanchez isn't shy to admit that she's pulling for one of the female singers to prove victorious!
"Boys have been winning 'American Idol' ... I mean they've been on a winning streak. I was hoping to break that streak last year. I think that was the only thing that really brought me down. I was like, 'Dang! I couldn't break that streak!' But I hope a girl wins this year, just to give the girls some pride." Sanchez acknowledges that all the women are looking good so far in the competition, but her no 1 pick would have to be Candice Glover. "That's my girl from last year. But I hope a girl wins. I'm very excited for them. Yes, girl power!"
Glover recently advanced as one of the Top 10 finalist... do fans think she has what it takes?

Sanchez doesn't know much about her upcoming guest appearance, but with the "Glee" season finale fast-approaching (May 9), fans can likely expect some exciting news soon!
"As far as 'Glee,' I have no script yet," the songstress said, "I'll be taping very, very soon. I got a call from them, like, a couple days ago, very, very excited. I've been practicing my acting. It's like a whole new element for me. I've never acted before, so I mean, it's just like dancing; it's unexpected. So we'll see how I do.... It's an opportunity, and I love to take challenges. I love to do that stuff. I want to play somebody else and see how that feels, but I haven't gotten my script yet or know who I'm going to be playing, but I'm very, very excited."
"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy remains relatively hush-hush about Sanchez's role, but he did reveal to the Philippines' The Manila Bulletin. "I would imagine she is going to be the big voice star of another competing choir who gives them a run for their money."
