Katrina Kaif and Shahid Kapoor to Star in 'Aankhen 2' with Amitabh Bachchan?

Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have never worked with each other but if things go well, then the hot Bollywood couple are set to share screen with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Aankhen 2.

Kaif and Kapoor are the two of the most talented stars in Bollywood right now. With films like Kaminey, Jab We Met and Haider in his basket, Kapoor has already proved his worth in Indian Film fraternity. On the other hand, Kaif, who recently did a hot photo-shoot for GQ has worked in films like Phantom and Namaste London. According to FilmiBeat, the sequel movie featuring Kapoor, Kaif and Bachchan was announced by Anees Bazmi during the release of Welcome Back movie. Aankhen starred Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Bachchan in the lead roles.

The 2002 heist thriller drama film, Aankhen was directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and was adapted from a play titled Blindman's Buff. The film followed the story of Vijay Singh Rajput (Bachchan) who has spent all his life working for one bank and even achieved the bank an International recognition. When things go around and Rajput gets fired from the bank, he decides to rob it with the help of three blind men, played by Kumar, Rampal and Rawal.

It was back in 2012 when the Daily Mail reported that the pre-production of Aankhen 2 had begun but it had to be wrapped up because of Bachchan's illness. 

According to PinkVilla, the official announcements on Aankhen 2 casting will be done soon. The source close to the media outlet although confirmed that the thriller film cannot be made without Bachchan and the official announcements will be made in the next 15-20 days.

"Aankhen 2 will star Kapoor, Kaif, Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Official announcements will happen soon," says the source.

When the film is going into production is still not known but one thing is sure, with an ensemble cast of Kapoor, Kaif, Siddiqui and Bachchan, Aankhen 2 is going to be a must-watch.
