Dismissing all the reports that swirl around the production of Aashiqui 3 that director Mohit Suri has walked out of the romantic film over money issues, producer Mukesh Bhatt has finally confirmed that Aashiqui 3 is finally in making.
Earlier, there were rumours that Suri, who was famous for making films like Murder 2, Woh Lamhe, Awarapan, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, has walked out from the Aashiqui 3 due to money issues and was very unhappy from the Bhatt over his remuneration.
When asked about the rumours, Bhatt was quoted by Indian Express as: "The reports are baseless. He [Suri] is very much a part of Aashiqui 3. The work for the film is in process."
Aashiqui 2 was released in 2013 and the entire project was helmed by Suri. The film starrer Adtiya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Set in the early 2010s, the film followed a lover story between musicians Rahul and Arohi, a relationship which is affected by Rahul's issues with alcohol abuse. According to Hindustan Times, the film which was made with a budget of $1.3 million and went on to earn $16 million. The enormous success of this musical film promoted the makers to work on the another part in the series.
In Nov. 2015, Indian Express reported that Mahesh Bhatt along with his daughter Shaheen Bhatt are working on the Aashiqui 3 script. Bhatt also made an official announcement that Surhita Sen Gupta was also working along with them to pen down the script.
There have been many speculations over the casting for Aashiqui 3 from time to time. Mstars News previously reported that there have been speculations that Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone may star together in Aashiqui 3 but there have been no official confirmation from either sides.
