Sharon Stone is facing a lawsuit after her former maid, Angelica Castillo, filed a wrongful termination claim against the Basic Instinct actress. According to the report filed on Monday, the 55-year-old actress was unhappy with the housekeeper's abilities. Castillo sustained a back injury while carrying groceries back in June. A doctor informed her not to lift anything for a while, but Stone ordered her back to work. Stone fired her Castillo. Last year, a former nanny also sued Stone.
According to the claim:
"Plaintiff was required to perform her regular duties, including but not limited to grocery shopping, lifting and moving heavy items as part of cleaning the residences. While the plaintiff was still in severe pain, Stone repeatedly yelled at plaintiff for performing her duties more slowly, and called her 'crazy' and 'stupid,' "
There have been no comments from Sharon Stone or any of her representatives.
This lawsuit hits Stone less than a year after a former nanny, Erlinda Elemen, accused her of making derogatory ethnic slurs towards her and violating labor laws. Here is a summary of that claim:
"Defendant Stone, however, accused Plaintiff of 'stealing' from her by taking the above-described overtime pay, told Plaintiff that it was 'illegal' for Plaintiff to have taken the pay, and asked for it back. Defendant Stone then began to repeatedly berate Plaintiff in front of her staff, guests and others, for a period of approximately three weeks, for no other reason than Plaintiff had received overtime pay as hereinabove alleged [...] [Stone was] repeatedly verbally dismissive of Elemen's deeply held religious beliefs, criticized Elemen for frequently attending church and, on one occasion, even forbade her live in nanny from reading the bible in Stone's house."
Sharon Stone has called this "an absurd lawsuit" with "made-up and fabricated" claims, filed by "a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can."
