Ever dreamed of getting up-close and personal with the boys of "One Direction"? Well 1D-ers here's a unique opportunity brought to you by Madame Tussauds!
The 1D heartthrobs: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, are all getting waxed in prep for their next tour. The five boys of "One Direction" are the newest additions to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and their figures will be hitting the road for an international tour starting April 18 in London, E! News reports.
After an apparent overwhelming amount of requests from fans, Madame Tussaud decided to immortalize the boy band and add them to her latest collection of celebrity wax figures, according to NY Daily News. Just like their real-life counterparts, the five teen heartthrob statues will go on a world tour, making stops in three of the museums venues - London (April 18 - July 11), New York (July 19 - Oct. 11) and Sydney (Oct. 24 - Jan. 28) - with additional dates and locations to follow.
"The boys have been at the top of the most wanted personalities list in London, New York and Sydney for the last 12 months," Liz Wells, Global Head of Marketing for Madame Tussauds said. "We are delighted we can now satisfy public demand by bringing their figures to each of these cities."
Starting Monday, fans can get a sneak peek on the museum's website where they'll reveal one likeness each day of the five-member group, Daily News states.
Each of the singers in the British pop band are stoked as well as flattered to be replicated by the famous wax museum.
"We've been to Madame Tussauds and seen the kind of people who are in there," Harry Styles, 19, said in a statement. "It's crazy to think that we will be up there with them."
Bandmate Niall Horan, 19, was also delighted to be included among the wax stars. "We were super excited to find out that they were making us and that people felt we were worthy of a figure," he said.
"I think it's going to be quite weird to see yourself as a wax figure," said 21-year-old Louis Tomlinson. "But it's an amazing honor to be there ... we are very proud."
Zayn Malik, 20, was shocked, "All the biggest stars around the world get these wax figures made of them and why are we, five normal lads, getting these?" he said.
Having seen some of Tussauds great work, 1D member Liam Payne, 19, gushed "The quality of work that goes on over there is mad," he said. "They are so amazing."
As their website states, At Madame Tussauds there are no ropes, no guards, no 'miles from the stage'. Forget the front row... at Madame Tussauds you get next to the band. Get the perfect Facebook profile photo... with the 1D boys!
