Tom Holland wants Peter Parker's fans to know that the new 'Spider-Man' film will not be just another typical superhero movie! The young actor has even gone as far as teasing that the reboot could be a little like ... 'Sixteen Candles?!'

Just a few months after being chosen to be the new Peter Parker for the upcoming reboot of the 'Spider-Man' film franchise, Tom Holland is now openly talking about getting the coveted role and has even shared a few details about the movie. And it sure sounds like he's getting into the Marvel vs. DC feud that was started by Zack Snyder!

In October, the 'Batman v Superman' director commented on how his new film will be more than just a "flavor of the week movie like Ant-Man." In response, 'Captain America' star Sebastian Stan insinuated that 'Civil War' isn't trying to be like Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

Tom Holland, who will be making a cameo as the young Spider-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War,' has somehow mentioned a DC film in a recent interview with The Daily Beast. However, the young star of 'The Impossible' made the comparison with his upcoming standalone 'Spider-Man' film.

"It's not 'The Dark Knight,'" Holland said of the movie. "One of the special things about what we're going to try and create is that you're going to see the biggest independent film ever. It's not going to be an epic thing; it's going to be a film surrounded by these incredible things, but that follows this boy and his life."

Tom Holland also confirmed that young people will be able to relate with the new Spider-Man.

"Peter Parker is a favorite of many because everyone can relate to him, and we're going to try to make everyone relate to our Peter Parker," he said before comparing the new 'Spider-Man' film to the teen films made popular by one particular director in the 80s.

"John Hughes is a perfect example of what we're going to try and do," Holland said.

The new 'Spider-Man' movie is scheduled for release on 2017.
