Amanda Bynes Twitter Unveils "New" Look: Cheek Piercing, Blonde Barbie Hair, Heavy Makeup: Retired Actress Channeling Nicki Minaj? Let's "Ask Ashley!"

Amanda Bynes, former Nickelodean star, warmed her way into our hearts back in her All That days with her innocent "Ask Ashley" comedy sketch. The now retired actress took to her Twitter page on Sunday to unveil her newest look, consisting of cheek piercings, blonde "Barbie" hair, and extremely heavy makeup. If only we could write a letter to "Ask Ashley" and find out what the heck is going on with Amanda these days?

Bynes tweeted on March 10: "Wink ;)" with the picture shown above. She appears to be almost unrecognizable from the goofy She's the Man star that America knew and loved.

The 26-year-old is looking like she's possibly trying to channel Nicki Minaj and her "Barbs" look, Us Weekly pointed out, as she poses in a close-up shot with long curly hair, heavy makeup and fake eyelashes. The photo shows the Easy A star peering into a compact mirror and showing off the cheek piercing she got back in January, according to her Instagram. Is the former girl-next-door playing dress up? As of now, we are not too sure.

The Examiner notes that looking back through Amanda's old tweets and photos it is clear to see that this bizarre look isn't so new after all. One photo dated Feb. 11 shows the star in the same orange hat with the curly locks. The caption simply says "Yo <3" Another posted on Feb. 11 shows Bynes with one eye barely open, with her hair (or wig?) pulled back. It has one simple word captioned on it, "Hi." Two days later she snaps another photo in oversized glasses showing the two cheek piercings and white hair. It's caption, "Back to blonde!"

The makeover comes after months and months of erratic behavior from the child star including a DUI arrest, two hit-and-run charges and reports in February that she was threatened to be evicted from her NYC apartment. The actress rejects being called a "troubled" starlet, however, and told Us Weekly last November, "I'm 26, a multi-millionaire, retired."

Further, ABC reports that in September 2012, the actress locked herself inside a dressing room in LA for two hours and then a cupcake shop bathroom in NYC for a half hour. She's created and deleted countless Twitter and Tumblr accounts, announced her early retirement from acting, and denied having mental health issues.

Maybe Amanda Bynes is taking notes from other child stars gone "wild" like Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, and the Olsen Twins.
