Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Take 'A Break' ? 'Hunger Games' Star Spotted in Australia with Friends, PHOTO

Miley Cyrus denied rumors that she called off her wedding to Liam Hemsworth but the Hunger Games actor was photographed Saturday in Australia without his fiancee and a source said the couple is on "a break."

Hemsworth was spotted enjoying a drink with two of his friends and a source told People magazine the 23-year-old flew home on March 1 so the engaged couple "could have a break." The source added, "It doesn't mean that they have split. Miley says they are still together."

On March 6, Cyrus was pictured leaving a recording studio in Los Angeles without her engagement ring. The singer wore jewelry on her left hand finger but not the ring Hemsworth proposed with. A source close to the Can't Be Tamed singer said the couple have had some problems that "they are working through" and added that Hemsworth's trip to Australia was planned but "[he] doesn't have a return date to Los Angeles yet."

Also on March 6, Cyrus denied via Twitter that she cancelled her wedding, though reports circulating earlier in the day cited sources saying otherwise.

"I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining," she tweeted. "My new music is gonna shut everyone up. not discussing anything but my music from now on."

Cyrus is working on releasing a new album this year.
