Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez are soon going to share the screen for the first time in the upcoming action-thriller Bang Bang 2.
In 2014, Bollywood famous director, Siddharth Anand directed Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The film, which was an official remake of Tom Cruise's Knight and Day, failed to impress the critics but the on-screen chemistry between the actors and the astounding death-defying stunts got praised from everyone and according to KoiMoi the film went on to earn $45 million at the box-office.
The success of Bang Bang made it very clear that the producers can definitely work on a sequel. In an interview with Deccan Chronicle Anand made it clear that while shooting the action sequences of Bang Bang, he realized that he loves to make action movies and a sequel was a real possibility. Now the filmmaker has reportedly gone ahead with the project but with some major changes.
According to Mumbai Mirror, a close source to the production house revealed the fact that Bang Bang 2 will have a altogether a different story line from the first part and the leading pair of the film are replaced by Malhotra and Fernandez. The source also mentioned that Go Goa Gone directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. are going to helm the project.
"Sidharth and Jacqueline will start prepping up for this action-adventure once they are done shooting for their respective projects. The sequel is expected to go on the floors sometime mid-next year," added the source.
The insider also revealed to the daily that in Bang Bang 2, both the stars are going to have many intimate scenes. Malhotra, who made his Bollywood debut from Karan Johar's Student of the Year said that he has read the script but is still considering to sign it.
Fernandez will soon be seen in her first international project, Definition of Fear and Malhotra is currently shooting for Baar Baar Daikho. The duo can surely set the screens on fire if they get cast together in a project.
