Derek Jeter Sued by Frigo After Objecting to Marketing Underwear to Gay People

Baseball legend Derek Jeter appears to be in deep trouble with Swedish underwear company Frigo RevolutionWear about the underwear line he collaborated on with the company, Rolling Out reports. Unfortunately, Jeter appears to be in a reported $30 million dollar lawsuit because Frigo claims he did not want to market his underwear line to gay people.

TMZ reports that court documents filed in Delaware reveal Frigo is an uproar because, "[Jeter] demanded that [Frigo] not market to the gay community and states that he did not want the Frigo brand to be 'too gay.'"

The publication further reports that in their deal Jeter would serve as one of the directors of the company and take part in major publicity events. However, things have not gone to plan with the marketing strategy.

It has also been previously reported that "the company claims Jeter also pitched a fit when it selected 50 Cent as a brand ambassador because he felt it would make the brand 'too urban'... allegations Jeter denied," TMZ reports.

TMZ also reports there have been claims made that Jeter wanted the company to rebrand so that the undies did not appear to be too "sporty," in fear that it would harm his ongoing relationship with sports company, Nike.

Joseph Tacopina, Frigo's Attorney, tells TMZ, "As demonstrated in the Verified Counterclaims of RevolutionWear filed yesterday, Derek Jeter defrauded RevolutionWear, blatantly breached the fiduciary duties he owed to it and utterly failed to perform his contract with the company."

Tacopina went on to say Jeter has lost the company up to $30 million. The reason for the lawsuit is to claim the damages as money lost along with other punitive damages for his fraudulent conduct. He went to state they have eyewitnesses to back the claims of his alleged frauds and misconduct, the publication reports.

However, Rolling Out reports Jeter claims everything RevolutionWear states in their lawsuit is false.
