Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Can Make Up to $300,000 per Instagram Post

The term 'social media model' has been taken to another level. Most knew that some posts on social media were advertisements for major brands and corporations, but CR Fashion Book has just publicized what the top three social media models are making. Super models Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid all make between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post.

$300,000 is 9.6 times the average salary of a modern day millennial women. The average salary is $31,069 according to Elle magazine.

Before the boom of social media models, it was a known thing that models would not get out of the bed for less than $10,000 a day. That amount is pennies compared to what a model can make now. Now a days, most casting directors will not even consider you if you do not have a social media following. In their world, likes actually means dollar signs. The publication reports that Jennifer Powell, who works on women's boards and manages social media talent for Next Models' states, "For sure casting directors will ask for models with over 'X' amount of followers, and then will ask for the specs of the talent after that. Especially for campaigns and bigger projects." Sure, there are other models that make far less than Jenner, Delevigne, and Hadid. Second tier models like Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo and Miranda Kerr can demand anywhere between $25,000 to $50,000 for a social media post. The sites can include Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the publication reports.

CR Fashion Book quotes Micki Schnieder, who is the senior booker in the women's department division at Wilhelmina, as saying, "The most valuable reason for a model to be on social media is definitely a combination of monetizing her image and using the platform to develop and build a digital brand for themselves. The more followers a model has, the more they can be appealing to certain clients. And we encourage the girls and are very mindful, as they create their own brands and become more mainstream, to be as authentic as possible."

Being a model most certainly pays in more ways than one.
