Fans finally get to see the top 10 finalists perform in "American Idol" season 12. Five male and five female contestants are left to sing songs Wednesday night from past "Idol" winners. The theme of the night is "Music of the American Idols." Unfortunately for viewers, Nicki Minaj was late because she was stuck in traffic. Yup, that's what happens when you have live shows on "American Idol" 2013. The March 13 show may go down more for Nicki Minaj being late than the performances by the contestants.

Curtis Finch Jr. started off the night's live performances with "I Believe" by Fantasia. This performance was okay, but it didn't blow away any of the judges. The judges (minus Nicki) all seemed to like it, but Randy Jackson said he could see more from Curtis.

Janelle Arthur was up second. She sang "Gone" by Scotty McCreery. Again an okay performance, but nothing worth raving about. Nicki and Randy both thought the song choice could have been better. Devin Velez followed Janelle with "Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood. The judges were especially split on Devin's performance. Keith Urban didn't think it was one of his better performances due to wrong song choice, but Nicki Minaj was quick to disagree.

Angie Miller, a heavy favorite among the top 10 finalists, sang Kelly Clarkson's "I Surrender." Miller is the first performer of the night to get rave reviews from all the judges. As Randy put it, "the competition starts now!"

Paul Jolley had to follow Angie's superb performance. Paul sang "Amazed" by Scotty McCreery and was able to produce his own solid performance. Again, the judges all seemed to agree that Paul has been taking their advice and it's showing. Nicki Minaj chimed in with her own flare by telling Paul that he stimulated her sexual appetite.

Candice Glover was able to make it three great performances in a row by singing "I Who Have Nothing" by Jordin Sparks. Glover go the first standing ovation of the night. The audience and three of the judges stood up and Mariah said the only reason she didn't stand up was because her skirt was too tight. That performance should absolutely put Candice through to the next round.

Lazaro Arbos had the tough task of following up quite possibly the best performance of season 12 up until this point. Lazaro sang "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. Unfortunately Lazaro's performance was off and the judges weren't impressed. Keith questioned the song choice while Randy told him that his pitch was all over the place.

Kree Harrison, another favorite to win, was up next. Kree sang "Crying" by Carrie Underwood and put together another great performance. The judges all were impressed with her performance and Nicki was comparing her performance to pancakes, which is good, right?

Burnell Taylor sang "Flying Without Wings" by Ruben Studdard. Burnell put on a great performance and he definitely seems like the top one or two male competitors left in the competition. Randy Jackson said it well when he told Burnell that he "raised it up for the dudes."

The final singer of the night was Amber Holcomb. You know how they say "save the best for last?" Well "American Idol" did just that Wednesday night. Amber performed "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson and knocked it out of the park. NIcki told her it was the "best performance of the night." Holcomb again got three out of four judges to give a standing ovation.

Make sure you tune in tomorrow night for the live results show and check Mstarz for our recap of the night. In my opinion Amber Holcomb and Candice Glover put forth the best two performances of the night. What did you think? Share your thoughts below!
