Former Opie and Anthony co-host Anthony Cumia was arrested on Saturday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Danielle Brand. She uploaded a video of the assault to Periscope, claiming he had broken her hand. Cumia was charged with strangulation in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and criminal mischief in the third and fourth degree.
Newsday reports 54-year-old Cumia stomped on Danielle's hand, pinned her against a wall, and strangled her. Brand was left with a fractured rib, swollen arm and chest pain.
They report the argument started after Brand began discussing a former girlfriend of the radio host.
Brand uploaded a video of the incident on Periscope. She says in the below video, "Hi, I’m in Long Island, I got my hand broken, I’m waiting for police to come. I tried to call the police, but he turned the phone off."
Cumia is shown coming towards her as she yells, "Oh my God, don’t hit me! … Stay away from me!"
Cumia begins laughing and suggests they sing karaoke.
Cumio was arraigned Sunday on a charge of second-degree strangulation. He was released without bail but ordered him to stay away from his girlfriend.
Cumia’s lawyer, Alan J. Schwartz, denied the allegations. Cumia is due back in court on January 4.

Cumia was fired by SiriusXM last year after he called a black woman a "c*nt' and an "animal b*tch," claiming she punched him in the face as he was taking photos in Times Square.
Cumia had been on the radio with his co-host Greg Opie Hughes for 20 years and they were fined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) twice.
