Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri recently appeared in an ad for a cell phone company, which was displayed in Pakistan's leading newspaper. Now, people are boycotting the photo, claiming that the ad is obscene.

Fakhri is a 36-year-old American model and actress, who made her Bollywood debut back in 2011 by starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. The actress has also done many international projects including America's Next Super Model and Paul Feig's Spy. Earlier this week, Fakhri's cell phone advertisement was published on the front page of a leading Pakistani Urdu newspaper, Daily Jang, and ever since then, the actress is facing a lot of criticism over social media where people have condemned the published picture cheap and absurd, First Post reported.

Ansar Abbasi, a leading Pakistani investigative journalist, was the first one to condemn the advertisement on Twitter. After him, several others also joined him.

On Dec. 17, Fakhri posted a video of herself on Twitter and captioned it: "All my Pakistani Fans get ready for a big surprise! #AaRahaHaiX." Little did she know that her advertisement will stir the social media pot.

Matiullah Jan from Waqt News agreed with Abbasi and tweeted that showing Fakhri's beautiful curves have nothing to do with 3G mobile phones.

Not only this, one reader from Pakistan even compared Fakhri to former porn star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone:

Fakhri is currently busy shooting for Tony D'Souza's upcoming Indian biographical movie, Azhar. The film will follow the life of Indian international cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, who was involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2000. Bollywood's Emraan Hashmi will play the titular role and, according to Bollywood Hungama, Fakhri will play the role of Azharuddin's second wife, Sangeeta Bijlani.
