Sheldon, Penny, and Leonard have been warming our hearts for the last nine seasons as part of The Big Bang Theory, but could the show be going the way of fellow sitcom Friends and end after it hits season 10? Well it seems that is what might be happening, at least according to the team behind the mega popular CBS series. The series in currently airing it's ninth season with stars Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parson, and Johnny Galecki.
According to Us Weekly, reports are saying that TV's highest-rated sitcom might be going out with a bang, at least that is if show runner Steven Molaro is planning it right.

"I think so. I can't speak to the future on behalf of the cast or where we'll be then, but I's certainly possible that it could go past that."
"The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point," the creator continued. "The real answer is, I don't know, and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There's still so many episodes to go. Even if hypothetically season 10 was the end, I wouldn't be focusing on that yet. That seems like something that would be dealt with way down the line."
Chuck Lorre, co-creator also spoke about the shows future, mentioning that it has already surpassed what he thought it would be, stating the show has, "already gone beyond my wildest dreams."
"I'm not going to presume to know how many years this has because it's ridiculous for me to guess," Lorre explained of the shows future, according to TV.com.
The show is currently the number 1 sitcom on the air and the main cast has just landed contracts to score themselves $1 million per episode.
