WWE will present a special live episode of Thursday Night SmackDown tonight, and Dean Ambrose will put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler tonight. The show will air on the USA Network at 8 p.m. Eastern, but if you can't watch there, try here or here - both of these streaming provider links broadcast free live streams but may require downloading a torrent.
WWE has lots of time until its next pay-per-view, Royal Rumble, in late January, and it seems like the company is not wasting any time in progressing some of its feuds. Ambrose and Owens battled for the Intercontinental title at TLC, and the Lunatic Fringe won the belt on that night.
Owens had some issues with this, so when Ambrose and Ziggler had a match the next night on Monday Night Raw, the former champ ran out and attacked both men. He put the exclamation point on it by powerbombing Ziggler onto Ambrose's body.
Owens and Ziggler then tussled last night on Raw when the latter presented Neville with his Slammy award for Breakout Star of the Year. Owens crashed the party and said he deserved the award for defeating John Cena in his first match on the main WWE roster. He then called Ziggler a has-been, which led to a fight between the two men. They had an official match later in the night, and Owens emerged victorious with the Pop-Up Powerbomb.
Tonight feels like a final match in this short feud, though WWE is no stranger to extending feuds beyond their natural end point. The company just gave Ambrose the belt, so it would be odd if Owens got the belt back now or if Ziggler got another title reign, especially because Ambrose's friend Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
