WWE 'Thursday Night SmackDown' Results 12/22/15: Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler

WWE presents a special live episode of Thursday Night SmackDown from Des Moines, Iowa, and the main event features Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship. We've got the full results of the show for you, so let's see what happened.

The episode begins with The New Day, who talk about how they should have won the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year instead of The Usos. But instead of wallowing, they want to promote their new Christmas album with songs such as "Rudolph The Red Horned Unicorn," "The Little Trombone Boy," "Kofi the Snowman," "Big E Is Coming to Town" and, best of all, "We Wish You a Booty Christmas."

The New Day successfully defends the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Lucha Dragons when Sin Cara attempts a Moonsault but falls into a Big Ending.

Santino Marella is throwing a Christmas party and the Cobra puts the star on the tree. Stardust steals the star.

Renee Young interviews Dean Ambrose about his match tonight. He says he got six staples in his head last night after the steel cage match with Sheamus, but tonight he'll do something worse to Kevin Owens, and Dolph Ziggler won't get in his way, either.

The Wyatt Family defeat The Dudley Boyz, Kane, and Ryback when Bray Wyatt drops Bubba Ray Dudley with Sister Abigail.

Santino tries to find the missing star, and Stardust and The Ascension come in to taunt him. Titus O'Neil and Neville show up to support Santino, and Stardust says they will have to win back Christmas.

Rusev and Alberto Del Rio defeat The Usos after Del Rio hits the double foot stomp and Rusev delivers a superkick while the referee is distracted. The League of Nations attack The Usos until Roman Reigns comes out to save them.

Neville and Titus O'Neil defeat The Ascension when Neville hits the Red Arrow on Viktor.

Renee Young talks to Dolph Ziggler, who says he's been stuck in the middle of this beef between Ambrose and Owens. But tonight he becomes Intercontinental Champion again.

Dean Ambrose retains the Intercontinental Championship against Owens and Ziggler after The Show Off superkicks Owens and Ambrose takes advantage by dropping Ziggler with Dirty Deeds. He celebrates with the title as the show goes off the air.
