Russell Simmons "Excited to Receive His Family" Kimora and Tim Leissner Home for the Holidays

Russell Simmons spreads warm holiday cheer with kind words for his extended family. Kimora Lee Simmons and her new husband, Tim Leissner, planned to spend the holidays at Russell's place. Russell expressed his deep appreciation for family and extended family as he feels lonely at times as a single man. Russell referred to his ex-wife Kimora as his "best friend" and also revealed that Tim is his new business partner.

Following the Simmons' divorce in 2009, Russell has been very vocal about his care and affection for his ex-wife Kimora. In a recent one of his famed meditation sessions, Russell realized that even though his marriage ended, he is still thankful for his relationship with Kimora and his two biological kids from their union. In an Instagram post right before Christmas Eve, Russell poured his heart out to Kimora and their entire blended family.

Russell said, "I'm so excited to receive my family...as a single man with kids who are away at boarding school it gets kind of lonely. This morning's meditation makes me feel incredibly close to my best friend, Kimora Leissner and her amazing spouse and now my business partner, Tim Leissner."

I feel incredibly close to my best friend Kimora Leissner and her amazing spouse and now my business partner, Tim Leissner. I also feel very close to the father of one of the kids I love the most in the world (Kenzo Lee)Djimon Hounsou. When Tim asked me to be the Godfather to his and Kimora's beautiful baby boy, WOLF, I was overwhelmed. Anyhow with my 2 biological kids being so sweet, compassionate and excelling in one of the best boarding schools in the world (receiving straight A's). I feel so grateful I can't really express the feelings in words. While I realize that life is short and ever changing (you never know what's around the bend) for now I must say this morning meditation produced tears of joy. Thank you KIMORA LEE FOR BEING A STRONG, STRONG EXAMPLE OF EXCELLENCE. You are the best mother on the planet. "YOU PUT THIS THING TOGETHER".

Since Kimora and Russell divorced six years ago, Kimora had a son with actor, Djimon Hounsou, Kenzo Lee. Shortly after Kenzo turned 3, Kimora & Djimon broke up and have been working together as co-parents. Kimora recently welcomed her newest child, Wolfe, with her husband, Tim. The couple has asked Russell to be his godfather, to which Russell said he was "overwhelmed" by the honor.

In conclusion, Russell thanked Kimora Lee for being a "strong, strong example of excellence," and referred to her as "the best mother on the planet." On Christmas day, Russell shared pictures from their family's joyous holiday together under one roof.
