Janet Jackson Postpones 'Unbreakable' World Tour for Unspecified Surgery

Multiple Grammy Award-winner Janet Jackson has postponed her Unbreakable World Tour due to an unspecified surgery. The 49-year-old singer started the promotional tour of her 11th album in Vancouver, Canada, back on August 31 and continued through November. She had planned to resume after the holidays in Denver, Colorado, on January 9. Unfortunately, the "No Sleep" vocalist's bad news was posted Christmas Eve via social media.

"Hey you guys... Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced. Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright." wrote the Why Did I Get Married actress on Facebook before adding "Wishing you light, love, health and happiness this holiday season! Love, Janet."

It seems the Poetic Justice Oscar nominee went against her doctor's advice prior to her first U.S. tour date and performed anyway. However, an eyewitness to the concert told ET, "It was a nonstop dance party. She is back as the Queen of Pop. She hasn't lost a step." Although Jackson did postpone two dates in October due to doctor's orders.

No word yet on the music icon's medical issue. New tour's new dates have not been announced but the youngest sister of the late Michael Jackson was supposed to finish on June 29 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Whatever happens the singer claims all dates will be rescheduled and tickets will be honored.
