The Strokes have a new single out with an old music video. The rock band just released the video for their single "All the Time" and it gives fans a compilation of old video footage from the band's previous tours. Maybe the band is feeling nostalgic or maybe they just didn't feel like shooting a new music video. Either way, fans finally get a music video for the new single "All the Time."
The band's single premiered back in February, although it seems like forever since the band has put out a new single. Their fifth studio album, "Comedown Machine" is set to hit stores March 26 in the U.S.. News of the band's fifth album was the first real buzz surrounding front man Julian Casablancas and The Strokes in quite some time.
Despite the band's success, it's surprising they have no plans on touring to support the new album. Pitchfork reported back in February that the band would not be hitting the road. Nikolai Fraiture told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe that he would love to tour, but there was nothing planned. However, the bassist feels good about the band's latest album.
"It's kind of funny that new music doesn't feel as natural as it used to but for us, posting it when it is done feels like that is the way it should be done," Fraiture said. "When you make music you go up down, sometimes you feel strong and sometimes you feel scared. Right now, we just finished the album and I feel good about it and the atmosphere in the band. Hopefully it continues."
It seems like for the coming weeks fans will just have to settle for a music video consisting of old footage and a new single. Once RCA releases the album March 26 we can find out if the band has another hit album in them.
