Fox aired the mid-season finale of Season 3 of the supernatural drama, Sleepy Hollow. During the fight against Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) continues, will Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) need help from someone new (Charles Aitken) with Abbie Mills' (Nicole Beharie) shocker?
As we previously mentioned, trouble brewed as Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) found herself fully controlled by The Shard. Making her way through the deep lair, Jenny was unable to turn around when Pandora reappeared. Still under control, Jenny knelt down before Pandora and a mysterious figure, known as The Hidden One, proclaimed, "I have arrived."
In the closing moments, Abbie and Ichabod stormed into Pandora's lair to rescue Jenny. After being nearly been consumed by the power of the mystical gem, Jenny was being absorbed by the Hidden One. While Ichabod had his showdown with Pandora, Abbie had to sacrifice herself in order to save her sister. After a massive explosion, Ichabod discovered Abbie had disappeared off into the underworld.
According to TV Line, the official character description of Dr. Japeth Leeds is "a twisted, mysteriously brooding genius." With his talents in alchemy, Dr. Leeds has become obsessed with besting Ben Franklin that he eventually turns to the Dark Arts. His experiments all of a sudden turned him into the legend known as The Jersey Devil.
The site adds, Aitken has been cast in the supernatural drama. The Knick actor has landed he role of the founding father's arch nemesis. Though Crane and Leeds come face to face again in the present-day Sleepy Hollow, there is sympathy towards the doctor as he "paid the ultimate price when one of his twisted experiments went awry."
Aitken will guest-star in Episode 13 as Sleepy Hollow moves to Fridays.
New episodes of Sleep Hollow will begin on February 5, 2016.
