The countdown until April 7 continues. "WrestleMania 29" from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ is just a few weeks away. We have a few more rumors about the big event's match card as well as the backstage happenings within the WWE. Rumors include UFC and the organization's president Dana White, a stipulation for Brock Lesnar versus Triple H at WrestleMania 2013 and a possible Goldust, Cody Rhodes match at April's big show.
UFC president Dana White revealed in an interview Friday night with Canadian French sports network RDS that WWE CEO Vince McMahaon actually wanted to fight White! The UFC president told RDS (video below), "Vince wanted to fight me. Swear to God. Called me up and said, "Let's do it." We can either do it in the UFC, or let's do it at WrestleMania. And I said, "You are crazy." White went on to say, "I always have said it, and I'll say it again; I respect Vince very much. But Vince is too old to be fighting anybody."
That would have been quite the WrestleMania main event. If done correctly, that match could have been one of the biggest matches in WrestleMania history and a huge money maker. Despite agreeing with White that Vince is too old to be fighting anybody, I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince wrestling somebody in the ring within the next year.
According to PWInsider, CM Punk suffered an injury on last Monday night's "Raw," but the wrestler was backstage at a live "Raw" event this weekend and seems to be fine. PWInsider is also reporting that a possible stipulation for Triple H and Brock Lesnar's "WrestleMania 29" match is Hell in a Cell.
It doesn't look like Goldust will be at "WrestleMania 29." Goldust had been lobbying WWE officials to face his brother Cody Rhodes at the big event, but according to Goldust's latest tweet, that is not going to happen. Goldust tweeted, "Looks like i will be watching #WM29 this year from the comfort of my home. #newkidsontheblock ! Hope they know the opportunity they have!!! I might have to hit up @BookerT5x for a reunion against #rhodesscholars !!!"
