Viral music queen Carly Rae Jepsen, who gave us "Call Me Maybe," has taken another challenge, this time finding her way into the hearts of the nostalgic: she recorded the Netflix Fuller House theme, a cover of Full House's "Everywhere You Look," to play ahead of the Tanner's reappearance!
According to Billboard, the "I Really Like You" songstress took to Twitter on the early hours of Christmas Eve to give the world the best present: a new version of the theme to the beloved show that catapulted the Olsen twins into superstardom.
Tweeting excitedly about her latest project, the Canadian singer told her followers that she had teamed up with iconic songwriter and producer Butch Walker to record a new version of "Everywhere You Look," a song that to this day will bring tears of pure nostalgia in the faces of millions of people around the world.
As The Mary Sue reports, Fuller House is still a couple of months away, as Netflix recently revealed the show will be premiering on February 26 ... and, unfortunately, that's when Jepsen's cover will be released as well, hopefully in the form of a sweet retro-yet-modern opening credits scene that brings us back to our childhoods.
Jepsen's new version of the song will serve as part of the revamp of the Netflix reboot, which will basically tell the same story of the original series but switching genders: in the new series, D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) becomes a widow when she was three sons, so she moves back to her father's old San Francisco home alongside sister Steph (Jodie Sweetin) and childhood best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).
It was co-star and producer John Stamos (who became a star playing Uncle Jesse in the show) who revealed the reboot was happening earlier this year, as he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! following weeks of rumors.
