Reports confirm that "Saving Private Ryan" actor Tom Sizemore was attacked at his apartment in downtown L.A. on Thursday evening (March 14) by his date's alleged boyfriend. The jealous assailant threatened the 51-year-old producer with a gun, and stole a bunch of guitars and other expensive items after putting Sizemore into a headlock. Police eventually tracked down the unidentified attacker/thief and arrested him on suspicion of assault.
Authorities claim that Sizemore and a female companion were hanging out at the actor's luxurious South Main Street home when the attack occurred. A man ran in claiming to be the woman's boyfriend - he also insisted that he had a gun. The jealous "boyfriend" threatened Sizemore and eventually attacked, ultimately putting the "Pearl Harbor" star into a headlock position. He then stole several of Sizemore's guitars and other belongings before running off. Police were immediately notified, and the alleged assailant was quickly found and booked on suspicion of assault. He was eventually charged with grand theft and vandalism, and had bail set at $100,000.
Sizemore's belongings were eventually returned to their rightful owner.
This isn't Sizemore's first confrontation with law enforcement. According to the Inquisitr, In August 2003 he was convicted of misdemeanor charges for physically abusing and harassing his ex-girlfriend, the infamous "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss. The "Black Hawk Down" actor repeatedly failed drug tests during probation, and was sentenced to seven months in jail and four months of drug treatment in March 2005. He was again arrested in 2007 for possession of methamphetamines and sentenced to 16 months in prison. Finally in 2011, Sizemore was arrested outside of an LA apartment while police were conducting an ongoing drug investigation. The actor wasn't in possession of any drugs at-the-time, but police took him into custody after discovering that he had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor battery, issued over a 2009 case involving his ex-girlfriend.
