The Following left us with a bitter taste in our mouths with last week's episode, "Welcome Home." In a good way, though! Agent Weston almost died keeping his mouth shut and then "follower" Charlie DID die (not too happy about this choice, but we'll see how it plays out). Nobody knows where Claire is and Joe is not happy about that. We finally got to meet Roderick and we found out that he is the craziest character on the show. But what does tonight's episode, "Love Hurts," have in store for us? The title might suggest some sort of pain and, considering we are watching a show about a mass-murdering cult, that just might be the case. (SPOILERS TO FOLLOW)
CLICK HERE for a full recap of episode 8, "Welcome Home," but we have included an excerpt below as well:
"With the help of Roderick and some other goons, they try to get Weston to reveal Claire's location. He does not submit and ends up in a fight to the death with the intimidating Charlie. Luckily Hardy and Parker track down their missing friend and rescue him, killing five "followers" in the process.
Back at the mansion, Charlie is so distraught over his failure that he asks Joe to kill him. It is one of the most intimate scenes in television history if you ask me. So it seems like we say good-bye to an extremely compelling character in Charlie to make room for Roderick, an extremely insane character. We see how nuts he is when he almost kills Louise just for fun as Joe and Emma FINALLY get it on upstairs."
Tonight's episode, "Love Hurts," looks particularly suspenseful. After we found out that only agent Weston knows where Claire Matthews is but won't give away her location no matter what (awesome), it seems like Joe is getting a little antsy. He reaches out to Hardy but also sends him a message or two: one of Carroll's followers just starts attacking women named Claire. I honestly feel like this show thinks of the scariest things to do and then does them. Here is a clip of tonight's episode, "Love Hurts":
