After being rushed to the hospital over the holiday weekend, Rob Kardashian has been diagnosed with diabetes. The 28-year-old reality star has been lying low from the spotlight for some time, even missing the wedding of his older sister Kim Kardashian to Kanye West, causing ongoing speculation about his health. Adding to those rumors were recent Instagram messages from his other older sisters.
Khloe Kardashian recently shared a touching selfie as her only brother Rob kissed her cheek. "If only you could see yourself through my eyes!" read her caption. "I'll forever be obsessed with you! My one and only! #MyAce." said the ex-wife of Lamar Odem. In addition, sister Kourtney Kardashian posted a photo of Rob sleeping on the couch with the caption "Bob" with a heart emoji.
According to TMZ, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians personality had no idea of his condition and if he hadn't taken precauntionary messures, he could have slipped into a coma. His diagnosis was confirmed after doctors took various tests and determined his blood sugar levels were high resulting in diabetic ketoacidosis. To help treat the illness he needs to lose weight, change his diet and exercise.
A source told E! News, "He's home already. He went for a little and is fine now. It was a wake-up call." Mother Kris Jenner claimed "He's okay. He's just working on himself a little bit and trying to be a better Rob, so I just have to trust that he's good. We're all here to support him for whatever he needs, but he's doing OK."
Over the past year, the former Dancing With the Stars competitor has battled depression and a supposed 100-pound weight gain. In an interview with People magazine, Khloe commented, "Rob is such a great guy. He's charming, charismatic, everything. That's what's so infuriating. I'm like, where is your will to live life? Let's be around people!" She further added, "But he has to figure it out for himself. And he has so many people who want to help him."
