The History Channel's 10-part miniseries entitled The Bible has been wracking up a lot of controversy after last night's episode featured an actor who resembles President Barack Obama portrayed the show's antagonist: Satan. Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni is the actor who plays "Satan" on the popular show, but it took make up and "other production tricks" to make him appear more like the President (CLICK HERE for a photo of the actor out of character). There have been no statements from the show's producers, Mark Burnett and wife Roma Downey, on whether or not the similarities were part of the intention, but just from the picture above it looks like they might have been trying to make a point.
Staunch republican, Glenn Beck, is an avid viewer and fan of The Bible. He recently called it "one of the most important shows in decades." Beck was also one of the first viewers to take to Twitter in order to show the similarities
Anyone else think the Devil in #TheBible Sunday on HIstory Channel looks exactly like That Guy? twitter.com/glennbeck/stat…

Here is an excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter (which first covered this story) explaining how this could have been a statement from The Bible creators/producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey:
"Burnett has given to Democratic candidates, including Obama in 2008 and the DNC in 2009, while he also produces Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice and was behind Sarah Palin's first reality effort. Downey, while not publicly identifying with a party, is a devout Catholic who has spoken in public about her faith quite often."
So what do you think? Does the above photo make it seem like the show was trying to make a statement of some sort? Or is this just one big coincidental misunderstanding? Feel free to use the comment section to voice your opinion.
