Get ready RiRi fans, Rihanna is is about to be showcased on her own documentary. Rihanna's 777 tour is being made into a documentary that will air on prime-time television. May 6 at 8pm on FOX, "Rihanna 777" will debut on TV. This is the same tour that made a lot of news for the chaos that erupted on the plane and backstage. The singer's documentary will give fans a behind the scenes look into the mayhem that occurred on tour when reporters were brought along for the ride.
Rihanna's 777 tour spanned seven countries in seven days with seven shows to promote her seventh album. Yes, all the seven's were planned, but what probably wasn't planned was the chaos that ensued. Rihanna invited some lucky select fans and reporters on the singer's wild plane ride, but it quickly turned into a nightmare for some. There were various reports of hunger and fatigue among the reporters and fans in attendance.
On November 14 of 2012, Rihanna started her tour to promote her album Unapologetic. With stops in Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York the tour was hectic and fast paced. Apparently it helped record sales though, as the album debuted at number one on Billboard charts.
The documentary airing May 6 on FOX will give fans a special behind the scenes look at the tour, including all the chaos, according to USA Today.
One major complaint along the way was that, despite there being more than 150 journalists invited on the plane ride, they got little interaction with the diva. Rihanna has been known to be standoffish with reporters, but to invite journalists along for the ride on your tour and then to become hard to find is hard to believe. Some writers complained of the delays and chaos involved on the trip.
Rihanna defended the experience in an interview with England's Radio 1, saying, "They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country ... Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get."
Don't miss Rihanna's 777 tour documentary set to air May 6 on FOX.
