Kerry Washington's Olivia Pope is one of the ultimate heroines on television these days, as Shonda Rhimes' Scandal grows in popularity and in drama with each week. In the recent midseason finale, Olivia and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) seemingly broke up for good, and now actor Scott Foley (Jake Ballard) talks possible spoilers ahead.
Foley recently spoke to TV Line about what's next for his character, now that Jake is fresh off a terrible ordeal, with his long-lost wife, Elsie (Mía Maestro) having been killed by B613 alum Russell (Brian White) ... and, of course, he was asked whether Jake and Olivia were getting back together now that the whole Fitzgerald Grant thing seems to be finally over.
Although Foley didn't expand much on the actual scripts for the rest of the season, he does seem to think like Jake is "done" with Olivia, pretty understandable considering it was her who got Rowan (Joe Morton) out of jail after all the people he'd sent to die and the immense amount of torture he provided for so many people.
"He had tried to be the good friend throughout her (Olivia) ridiculous ponderings and questions about 'Should I marry Fitz?,' but once he found out that she let Rowan out and Rowan then killed his wife, I think he was done," Foley told the outlet, via The Inquisitr.
Website Carter Matt agrees that, while Olivia and Jake might just be the perfect match now that Fitz is finally out of the picture, it might just be time for Olivia to take her own steps without any man by her side, after years of sustained drama with the President, Jake and Russell, as it's pretty clear that, for all of Liv's professional assertiveness, might just have the worst possible taste in men.
