Birdman has finally broken his silence (outside the world of Twitter anyway) on protege Lil Wayne's recent spat of health scares and hospitalizations.
The Cash Money CEO, who essentially discovered Lil' Wayne attributed Weezy's seizures to his "work ethic." According to Birdman, the rapper was working "around the clock" and it eventually caught up with him. He maintained a hard line stance that the stories coming from TMZ (which currently include tales of a codeine overdose, stomach pumps, medically induced comas and Weezy having his last rites read) are patently false.
"He had a seizure through the night. We've really been in the hospital since Tuesday. All the stuff that people have been saying, there's no truth to it at all," he said. "We never left [the hospital] after the first seizure. We've been here since Tuesday...honestly, [the cause was] his work ethic, just how he puts in and what he believes in...it didn't have nothing to do with drugs. No such thing like that. To me, it's how he works. He works around the clock, he's just a hard grinder for this music. But it wasn't nothing about no drugs. He just needs to get some rest and relax, take it one day at a time. He'll be back normal like anybody else, he just needs to relax for a minute and get some rest."
Who's telling the truth here? Is TMZ making up stories or are the Young Money/Cash Money collective lying to try and protect their friend.
