Despite mounting rumors around Liam Hemsworth engagement to Miley Cyrus being in turmoil, the 23-year-old actor felt comfortable enough to open up about his The Hunger Games: Catching Fire costar Jennifer Lawrence. He portrays the lovelorn Gale Hawthorne opposite Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen in the dramatic action series. Though his personal life is questionable, it looks like his career is heating up with the anticipation of the next chapter in the epic tale.
While being interviewed in the Phillipines, Hemsworth shared his praises of the Oscar winner by saying:
"She's one of the most energetic, fun-loving people I've ever met. Working with her on set is just easy because she's so good and she's just won all these huge awards so congratulations to her for that. She's amazing."
Liam also addressed some controversial scenes that he was involved in. He recalled the scenes in which he had to be whipped.
"My character [Gale Hawthorne] gets whipped in this one. So I spent a couple of days on my knees getting whipped, which was pretty horrific."
Since these whipping scenes are pretty controversial, it is unknown whether or not they will make it into the film at all, so stay tuned for that. Luckily, Liam feels that this sequel is set to blow fans away more than the first film. He says:
"There's a whole lot of great stuff in 'Catching Fire.' The characters are developing more; (director) Francis Lawrence had a whole new take on it."
Are you excited about the next installment of The Hunger Games? Do you think Liam and Miley's wedding will be called off soon? Are there going to be more rumors about Lawrence and Hemsworth hooking up just like there had been during the first film's shoot? My advise: Get ready for a hectic few months, Liam.
