The Capitals head into Tuesday night's game as the no 4 team in the NHL Eastern Southeast Conference with a 12-15-1 record. Washington, DC snags the meager no 28 spot out of 30 teams in the league. According to ESPN columnist Scott Burnside, "The Caps responded to a desultory 4-1 loss to Boston on Saturday with a 5-3 win over hapless Buffalo on Sunday. Still, they need to find a way to beat someone other than the conference's weak sisters to prove they're not truly cooked."
The Penguins snag the no 1 spot in the Eastern Atlantic Conference, with a 22-8-0 record. The team ranks no 4 overall. As Burnside points out, "The Penguins reasserted that they're the team to beat in the Eastern Conference after beating the Bruins 2-1 Sunday. The win marked the second time in less than a week the Pens knocked off the team many believed was the deepest, most Cup-ready threat in the conference."
The game will be broadcasted live on NBC and local channels RDS, and NHLN-CA, but fans can also listen in on the radio at ESPN 980, 1500 AM, 105.9 The X, and 970 ESPN,
