With production of Season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil underway, Netflix has plans for Season 2 of Marvel's Jessica Jones. Are Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Trish "Pasty" Walker aka Hellcat (Rachael Taylor) ready to top their own " fight scenes?"
As we previously mentioned, Jessica Jones (Ritter) suffers from post-traumatic stress due to her dark times with Kilgrave (David Tennant). As the sole owner of Alias Private Investigations, Jessica is drawn to a mysterious man, Luke Cage (Colter) who seems to hiding a secret of his own. Wanting revenge for what she did to him, Kilgrave is going to make those around Jones suffer, especially Trish (Taylor) before he finally confronts her face-to-face.
In an interview with TV Insider, stunt coordinator Chris Place reveals the creative process of how someone superhuman would get into a brawl, "My first draft of the first fight in the show, she and Luke [Cage] were punching everybody. But the people who knew the comics said, 'They can't be punching these people; they'll be killing them."
Place continues, "That was a big shocker because I was like, 'How are we going to put fights together with these characters if they can't really punch people?' That's when we started integrating props into [the fights]."
As we mentioned before, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg discusses where the sophomore season fits into Marvel/Netflix's grand scheme, "The question becomes is there actual time? There are logistics involved, because Defenders has to shoot by a certain time, contractually. Actually, I'm not sure; I'm not at all involved in those conversations, much to my dismay. The first question is whether or not we will even get a second season. The second question is, if so, when? Will it be before The Defenders or after? I'd certainly love it to be before but there are things that play into that - time, availability."
Marvel's Jessica Jones continues to stream on Netflix.
