Cam Newton is expected to go home Wednesday, Dec. 10, after staying in the hospital overnight to undergo tests and observation. "MStars News" previously learned that Newton was involved in a car accident Tuesday, where his truck crashed and turned over multiple times involving one other car. The Carolina Panthers quarterback status is currently unclear if he will play Sunday, Dec. 14, or not. Despite escaping life-threatening injuries, Newton did suffer two fractures to his lower back. The other driver didn't suffer life-threatening injuries. Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton didn't go into detail about Newton's return to practice for the game Sunday, but he did say, "Right now we have thought about Cam's well-being and we understand there was someone else in the other car who was injured. We just hope that they're all OK." Dayton did reveal that Newton suffered from two transverse process fractures, but surgery will not be necessary. The 25-year-old's NFL team released a statement via Twitter that read: "We are closely monitoring the situation of a car wreck involving Cam Newton. We will have more information at an appropriate time." Read More »
