Depp’s Deep Pockets Cause Poor Profits

Forbes magazine has named Johnny Depp the most overpaid actor of 2015. The annual list is designed to justify the salaries of an actor based on how much money their films earn. Ironically in the last year, the Pirates of the Caribbean star appeared in two less than profitable movies: Mortdecai, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, grossed only $47.3 million on a $60 million budget, and Transcendence, co-starring Morgan Freeman, grossed only $103 million of its estimated $100 million budget.
