The San Francisco 49ers have parted ways with star coach Jim Harbaugh, who is on his way to the University of Michigan. All indications are that the coach who went 49-22-1 and tookt eh team to one Super Bowl appearance in his four seasons with the Niners will leave the NFL and take over the NCAA's Wolverines, where he starred as a quarterback between 1983-86. The Niners will now turn to a new coach - perhaps the recently deposed Rex Ryan - to guide them to better than a 68% win percentage, and decide whether or not to trade quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Harbaugh played quarterback at Michigan, where he led the Wolverines to the No.2 national ranking during his junior season. Cole reported that university officials are already in San Francisco to meet with Harbaugh after the season concludes. Harbaugh has let the Michigan offer sit for weeks now while his future in San Francisco got murkier and murkier. But the 49ers will come to regret the decision according to SB Nation, which says Harbaugh did everything in San Fran except win a Super Bowl. NJIT has only won 76 games since entering Division I. A big part of that was the 51-game losing streak the team went on from February 2007 to January 2009, after jumping up a division. That's almost two straight years of losing. For comparison, the Philadelphia 76ers last week narrowly missed making NBA history after starting the season 0-17.
