The Man of Steel was the modern Superman film Superman Returns was supposed to be. The fight with Zod and the origin retelling were a cinematic masterpiece that stayed true to one of America's oldest icons. One of the main reasons for this is the stunning performance by current Superman Henry Cavill, because if there was anybody on the planet better suited to look and act like the man of steel, it's him. When asked about the next time he's donning the role he says we should look at 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, not as a sequel, but as a separate film entirely.
