Cate Blanchett will be making her Broadway debut this winter. The 46-year old current Best Actress Oscar nominee for Carol will star in The Present, a play written by her husband, screenwriter Andrew Upton. The show is an adaption of Anton Chekhov's Platonov which has already been in production to sold-out audiences at the Sydney Theatre Company in Australia for which Blanchett and Upton have served as co-artistic directors. Fresh off his Oscar nomination for The Revenant, actor Leonardo DiCaprio made mention of a role he would love to play in the future. Ironically, much like his most recent film, it would involve a bear reference in a cold climate. Fresh off his Golden Globe win for his performance in The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio has received an Academy Award nomination for the same role. The announcement was made this morning in Hollywood at 5:30am by actor John Krasinski and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
