At UFC 189 Conor McGregor defeated Chad Mendes for the interim Featherweight Championship and the #2 contender Frankie Edgar had a front row seat to it. McGregor, the former lightweight champion, was passed over to face McGregor in the fight and now he wants his chance. Earlier this week, we learned that current UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo had to back out of UFC 189, his title match with "The Notorious" Conor McGregor, which was set for July 11, 2015, due to a recently discovered injury. Aldo has since provided an official statement about backing out and photo evidence of his fractured rib.
