UFC 193, where Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm fought for the UFC women's bantamweight belt, definitely had one of the most shocking outcome in the history of the sport. But the former champion revealed that she is now ready to take her belt back from the new titleholder.
After the 28-year-old was beaten by Holm in the most embarrasing way possible, the initial reaction from everyone was an instant rematch. Many assumed that the battle will happen in UFC 200 in July 2016.
But it was not made possible by Rousey's medical issues, she was suspended 60 days after her loss, a much-needed time for all her wounds to be completely healed. Not only that, she also had other obligations outside the Octagon.
After that report, the hype for the Rousey-Holm rematch eventually died down.
On Monday, January 18, Rousey made a lot of UFC fans jump for joy when she finally confirmed that the rematch is definitely going to happen.
When TMZ Sports caught up with the former undefeated fighter and she was asked about the rematch with the 34-year old new champ.
“Of course, that’s all I want to do,” she said with a big smile on her face.
Once she finished all her necessary duties, she is ready to put her UFC fight gloves back on again, because even if she's busy preparing to host Saturday Night Live on January 23, Rousey is still an MMA fighter first.
“It’s a decision we’re all gonna make together, but I’m kind of waiting to hear from them what options they’re gonna give me,” she said.
