Remember that shocking last scene in Thor: The Dark World when it is revealed that it's Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and not Odin (Anthony Hopkins) who is seated at the throne of Asgard? It is still unknown how Loki managed to take over, but new details about Thor: Ragnarok may reveal just what happened to the All-Father!

According to Geek.com, Loki was not able to kill Odin in The Dark World. However, it is possible that Thor's adopted brother tried to take control of Asgard and almost defeated the All-Father. Although it is not clear what exactly happened, Odin escaped Loki's attacks and made a beeline for Midgard.

But what could Odin possibly be doing on Earth? Is he looking for his son? Is he trying to build an army to take on Loki? The answer appears to be the exact opposite of all that. The report claims that Odin has been reduced to being a street hobo who wanders around and warns about the impending Ragnarok, or apocalypse.

There is no doubt that this is one of the most ridiculous theories involving a Marvel character, especially one played by an actor like Hopkins. However, it is possible that the studio intends to keep a dark tone in Ragnarok that could be in line with how low Odin has fallen after being defeated by Loki.

Thor: Ragnarok will be helmed by What We Do In Shadows director Taika Waititi so expect some dark humor to surface in the serious storyline.

The film will also star Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Cate Blanchett in a yet-unspecified role. However, Ruffalo has previously confirmed that the Lord of the Rings actress has been cast as a new female villain. There are speculations that Blanchett will portray the Marvel baddie Hela, Goddess of Death.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
