Katie Holmes Interview: Tom Cruise Ex Talks Dating, 'Touched with Fire' Movie & Being Positive

In a new interview with More magazine, Katie Holmes talks about dating, her career and living a positive life. The Touched with Fire star, and ex to Tom Cruise, has certainly come into her own over the last few years and her new interview is proving just that.

When the subject of dating came up her response was "I don't have a five or 10 year plan." Instead, the single mother revealed that today she "feels like a teenager" and that she in fact does a lot of things she did when she was a teen.

"I paint, I color. I cook sometimes. I still feel like a girl. I don't quite feel like a woman. I'll probably be 90 and feel like 'not a woman yet.' While she did not directly answer the dating question, she was open about how she is feeling at this time in her life.

One topic she had no trouble opening up about was her career. The actress is at a point in her life where she is confident in her career. The Dawson's Creek alum spoke about gaining confidence in her work as she has gotten older. "I understand the kind of stories I want to tell. I have more experience in the business. I feel more certain." Her new film, Touched with Fire, about two bipolar artists who meet in a psychiatric hospital, opens in theaters on Feb. 12.

There may be certain topics that are off limits to Katie Holmes, like dating and being Tom Cruise's ex-wife, but one subject that she is more than willing to talk about is living a positive life. She shared that you should "focus on the positive" along with "doing work that is fulfilling" and that you should "challenge yourself." She went on to talk about how "there are so many people doing inspiring things. If you focus on that, it makes your life richer."
