Cue the "awwws" from The Office fans everywhere! Jenna Fischer, who played one half of the show's favorite couple, Jim and Pam, is opening up about why exactly her and costar John Krasinski had such amazing chemistry. The secret? It wasn't fake!

According to Fischer, who appeared on Watch What Happens Live! on Wednesday, "John and I have real chemistry. There's like a part of me that is Pam and a real part of him that's Jim. And those parts of us were genuinely in love with one another."

Jim and Pam's adorable courtship, and eventual marriage, played out over the course of nine seasons on the hit show. Fischer was on the show to promote her new series, You, Me and the Apocalypse.

However, the chemistry wasn't always perfect, Fischer says. "In real life, we aren't totally Pam and totally Jim. So in real life, we're not like the perfect match," she said. "It's a really complicated thing. He was like a type of spouse that I had for a long time. He was my partner and we will always be close because of it."

Ironically, Fischer and Krasinski both got married in the same month, about a week apart, but to different people. Fischer married Lee Kirk on July 3, 2010 and Krasinski wed actress Emily Blunt a week later.

Krasinski hasn't commented on Fischer's remarks, but he did say back in 2013 that Jim and Pam's relationship was one of his favorite parts about the show. "As I mentioned, my favorite thing about the show has always been how - especially with the Jim and Pam story - how real the writers have always been to their relationship," he said in an interview with Digital Journal.

He also went on to say that he and Fischer both felt "it was such an incredible honor" to play everyone's favorite couple.

The Office ended after nine seasons in May 2013.
