Grant Gustin's portrayal of DC Comics Barry Allen has become pretty popular on The CW's show, The Flash, and fans are fiercely loyal of where he's taking the role of the Scarlet Speedster to television... so loyal that they're bashing the Cinematic Universe's version, played by Ezra Miller. Even before Miller's movie comes out, Gustin's asking his fans to leave his fellow Flash alone!
According to MTV, the issue started when Gustin's fans noticed that he'd liked a few fan posts saying that they'd like to see him play the superfast superhero in the big screen. Of course, the Internet being how it is, many thought this directly meant war, saying Gustin had bashed the Perks of Being a Wallflower actor.
Gustin took to Twitter to set the record straight about the whole thing, posting a message with his full support for Miller in the superhero role they both share.
"I've never met the guy but I think he is a fantastic and interesting actor," Gustin wrote about Miller. "Would I have liked to play Barry Allen in a movie? Sure. I love this character and it has changed my life and making movies and TV is something I hope to be fortunate enough to be doing for the rest of my life."
Hey, Twitter. Stop putting words in my mouth. Hate that I felt the need to do this, but read this if you please. pic.twitter.com/uVeoGGYRez

Gustin also explained he doesn't "support" messages that directly bash Miller at all, making it clear that he was perfectly happy with sharing the role.
It seems this isn't the first time the two actors have been pushed towards disliking each other over sharing the superhero role. IGN reports that, last year, Miller was asked how he felt about both he and Gustin playing Barry Allen, and he seemed more than cool with DC's move to have both, saying that the whole thing was about "parallel universes" and that, if the two Flashes were to race, it would be "dope."
In the past, Miller has starred in smaller independent films like We Need to Talk About Kevin, but he's been moving more towards bigger productions lately. Last year, he played the intern in Amy Schumer's début film as a lead actress, Trainwreck, and he's also set to play Credence in this year's Harry Potter spinoff/prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
